Our comfortable Lake George NY beach resort lodging accommodations include: 

  • All rooms are located on Lake George - The lakeside side of the road (US Rt. 9N-Lake Shore Drive) on flat level grounds
  • Lake View Rooms are located directly on the Beach/Lake George with 10 mile lake and mountain views (all have picnic tables and grills outside)

Rates/Fees:
Kids Stay Free!  Most rooms maximum occupancy allowed is 4 people per room:  2 adults and 2 children (newborns through 18 yrs.)
certain bigger rooms accommodate 5 people per room: 2 adults and 3 children, or 3 adults and 2 children.  Adjoining (connecting) rooms are priced and available for bigger families and friends.

All room rates are subject to applicable New York State and local County tax.

Amenities Provided:
Room rates include linens, bath towels and daily chamber-service.  All rooms are equipped with microwave oven, refrigerator, 32" flat panel color cable television, heat and air conditioning, in-room telephones for outgoing credit-card/phone card calls only, and in-room FREE Wi-Fi (Internet Service.)  ALL rooms have a private bathroom with single shower (no tubs), interior and exterior tables and chairs.  Adjoining rooms (connecting) are availabe - Call us for details!  All rooms have BB-Q grills and Picnic tables access.  Lakeview rooms have BB-Q and Picnic directly outside rooms on lower lawn at beach.

Not Provided:
Coffee makes are not provided (guests are invited to bring their own), hair dryers, irons and boards, cookplates, silverware, toasters, charcoal & lighter fluids, firewood for lakeside fire it not provided, newspapers, shampoo & conditioner, sunscreen, beach towels or sun umbrellas.

Limited Pet Friendly Rooms:
$15.00 per night, and each "designated Pet friendly Room," Rooms 1-7 only, limited to 1 small non-barking, non-nuisance pet.  Other limitations apply.  Call for details!
Pets are NOT allowed on lower lawn, beach or dock!  There are NO EXCEPTIONS!  Thank you!

Lake View Rooms:
Golden Sands offers "Lake View/Beach Area" rooms and "Non-Lake View" Upper Motel rooms.  (Click-Resort Locator Map)   "Lake View/Beach Area" rooms are popular and book early.  Room changes from "Non-Lake View" Upper Motel rooms to "Lake View/beach Area" rooms may nor be possible upon arrival.  Lake George and regional accommodations are unique and are not standardized "chain" or "flag" motels.  Guests who prefer or are accustomed to "chain" and "flag" style motels may consult local directories.

Office Hours:  9:00AM - 6:00PM.  Local restaurant menus, attraction and activities brochures, and area discount tickets available in Golden Sands office from 9:00AM until 6:00PM.  Kayaks, ping pong and basketball available in Golden Sands office from 9:00AM until 5:15PM, weather permitting, when kayaks are unavailable locked for the evening, no exceptions. All motel parking is assigned, and limited to 1 vehicle per room - call for details.  

Motor Boats and Sail Boats:  Rental and private boats are NOT ALLOWED on the Golden Sands dock, please call us at  (518) 668-2203  for local marina information, telephone numbers and addresses where your boat and boat trailer may be berthed, stored and parked. Boat dock "Pick-ups and Drop-offs" are not allowed!  There are NO EXCEPTIONS!  Thank you! 

Arrival and Departure Information: 
Check-in:  2:00PM - No arrivals prior to 2:00Pm please.  The balance of room charges is due upon arrival.  Reservations are guaranteed ONLY until 5:45PM on the date of arrival.  If you will be arriving later than 5:45PM, you MUST notify the Golden Sands office of your late arrival to guarantee your reservation.  Arrivals after 5:45PM, and after the office closes at 6:00PM, may have to wait until the office opens at 9:00AM to pick up room key, UNLESS, the room reservation balance due has been paid in full in advance, and arrangements have been made for key pick-up.  Please call for further details!  Thank you!
Check out:  10:00AM - No late check-outs.  If room is available, a one-half day rate shall apply!

Deposit Policy:
Deposits are required to guarantee your reservation.  Deposits are security against vacancies that may be caused by cancellation.  A canceled room cannot always be filled.  Deposits area commitment for the full amount of the time reserved.  Deposits may be made by credit card with authorization, personal check, money order or bank draft.  Deposits for "Last Minutes" reservations must be paid by credit card with authorization, bank or postal money order and sent by 2-day or overnight mail.  Deposits are refundable when written cancellation is received up to 30 days prior to arrival date subject to a 25% cancellation fee.  Thereafter, there are no refunds of deposits.  Rooms are held for a period of 5 days from the date reservation is made to allow time for your deposit to arrive.  A confirmation will be mailed to you upon receipt of your deposit.  It is the guest's responsibility to ensure and confirm that deposits were received by Golden Sands resort and confirm information is correct.  If you extend your stay, and additional deposit will be required.  Reservation dates changed less than ten days prior to arrival may incur a surcharge of one night's rate.  Balance is due at check-in.  Prepaid deposits are non-refundable.  We cannot be responsible for late arrivals of early departures due to weather or any other circumstances.  There are no refunds for early departure, no exceptions.

Reservation Information:
Reservations at our motel on Lake George Golden Sands Resort are considered a commitment for full period requested.  Balance due is to be paid in full upon check-in, prior to receiving room key.  Balance may be paid by cash, money order, traveler's checks, certified checks, bank draft, or credit card.  No personal checks accepted at check-in.  Based upon availability, a three night minimum may apply to weekends and/or holidays, and prices may vary for these times.

Handicapped Access/Medical Conditions:
Golden Sands Resort Motel is sensitive to ADA "Readily Achievable Barrier Removal" policy; however, due to the year of construction, GSR may not meet specific individual needs.  It is recommended that you consult your guide for accommodations displaying the International Symbol of Accessibility.

Lake George/Adirondack Outdoor Environmental Characteristics:
The Lake George/Adirondack region is a six million acre natural wilderness preserve and environment.  Guests and lovers of this great natural,unspoiled outdoor environment may experience a wide variety of grass, plant, tree pollens and dust different from their hometown or city, which may cause unexpected irritation to asthmatics and individuals with respiratory sensitivities.  Guests with respiratory concerns may consult their family physician.  Please notify us of any respiratory or medical conditions in advance, prior to making a reservation.

100% Non-Smoking Facility:
Golden Sands Lake George motel rooms are 100% Non-Smoking.  As a consideration to the next guest, smokers are asked to smoke outside their rooms.  Disposable ashtrays are available in the office.  Guests who violate the Golden Sands No-Smoking Policy shall be subject to a $150.00 cleaning charge.

Golden Sands Resort Policy:
No visitors allowed.  Registered gusts only please!  Limited "on-site" parking.  Each room restricted to one vehicle only, assigned parking.  Trailers may be subject to additional changes, and require advance notice and permission.  Visitors may be subject to guest fee.  Guests must be at least 21 yrs. old to make reservations.  reservations are not transferable.  Misrepresentation of any of the above may result in reservation cancellation and forfeiture of guest deposit.  Golden Sands Resort Motel is privately owned.  The management reserves the right to refuse services to anyone, and will not be responsible for loss of money, jewelry or valuables of any kind.  Rates and policies are subject to change without notice.  Guests will be responsible for damage caused to property. 

Attention/Warning:
Golden Sands Resort is a lakeside property.  Observe Policies, Postings and common sense.  Playground, dock, kayaks, fire pit, beach, lakefront, and swimming area horseplay, jumping and diving is strictly prohibited as may cause serious injury or even death.  Guests must remain in designated swim area and no jumping or diving is permitted as one may strike submerged objects or lake bottom and be seriously injured or killed.  Guests are required to read, review and sign a "Waiver" prior to kayak use.  Kayak use hours are from 9:00AM until 5:15PM, no exceptions, life jackets are required by state law, guests may not use kayaks beyond 100 feet from shore, a deposit is required, time limit applies, and kayaks must be returned to kayak station after use to ensure deposit return, subject to forfeit for any violation of Kayak Use Policy.
